The Planning, Projects, and Program Management Office (PPPMO) plays a vital role in advancing the campus’s strategic growth and operational excellence by managing a comprehensive portfolio of services. Our scope includes campus master planning, space occupancy and utilization reviews, programming, test fits, space information management, project data management, space analytics, campus rent model management, capital and asset planning, and space programming. We also specialize in overseeing the renovation and new construction projects, capital renewal initiatives, relocations, space activations, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) planning, signage and wayfinding development, and reviewing and developing interior finish standards and renewal and artwork selections.

We deliver comprehensive planning and project management services for on-campus and off-campus projects through seamless collaboration with internal and external partners. Our collaborative, team-based approach sets our team apart, ensuring every project is actively managed to align with the specific goals of our diverse stakeholders, including administrative, research, clinical, and academic departments. Our planners, project managers, and coordinators work closely with School of Medicine leaders and end users, supported by a broad network of Operations and Facilities Management professionals, including Environmental Services (Custodial), Facilities Engineering, and Protective Services.

In addition, we collaborate on our projects with key partners, including the WashU Medicine Joint Office of Strategic Planning (JOSP), Faculty Practice Plan, WashU Information Technology, Environmental Health and Safety, and the Telecommunications Facility Corporation (TFC). Our partnerships extend to BJH, BJC Healthcare, St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), the Cortex Innovation District, WUMC, the adjacent neighborhoods, and the city. This collaborative model ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality projects
that meet the evolving needs of the campus and community while
supporting long-term success.
